Dr. John Kowalczyk received a Bachelor of Science degree, with an emphasis on Biology and Chemistry, from Saginaw Valley State University. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001. Dr. Kowalczyk’s practice is dedicated to the healing techniques of NUCCA, the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association. As the name suggests, NUCCA is a specific type of upper cervical chiropractic care that focuses on the the Atlas Subluxation Complex, a misalignment of the bone structure that connects the head and neck. By correcting this area, Dr. Kowalczyk is able to keep the entire spine in alignment, alleviating countless conditions throughout the body.
Dr. Kowalczyk opened his first practice, Balanced Living Chiropractic PLLC, in Rochester, Michigan in 2001. In 2008, he opened a second practice in Midland, Michigan. After selling his Rochester practice to an associate in 2009, Dr. Kowalczyk opened a second practice in his hometown of Pinconning, Michigan; he continues to see patients in both the Midland and Pinconning locations.
Dedicated to his chosen profession, Dr. Kowalczyk has lectured all over Michigan on the importance of spinal health, as well as serving on NUCCA’s Board of Directors as a Committee Chair. In 2000, Dr. Kowalczyk travelled to North and South Vietnam, where he provided chiropractic care to hundreds of individuals in underserved areas.
On a personal note, Dr. Kowalczyk and his wife Stefanie reside in Bay City, Michigan with their two children, Gideon and Quinn. Dr. K is very active in local Little League, serving on its Board of Directors, as well as coaching Gideon’s team. He is a devoted triathlete, participating in several triathlons a year; he also trains others, helping them to meet their fitness and health goals.
